Anthony Robbins, vice president of the federal business at NVIDIA and a four-time Wash100 Award recipient, has pledged his support for the U. S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots Program, a nationwide fundraising campaign that collects and distributes new toys as a Christmas gift to poor children.
Robbins recently caught up with Executive Mosaic’s flagship GovCon Wire to describe the cause he cares about and how other industry leaders can participate in the toy donation drive.
Why are you supporting the Marine Toys for Tots Program?
In my case, I can trace my affinity to this program back to my mom and the holidays in our home. I was raised by my mom who retired after 32 years with the government as a GS-13. There were real challenges for women in the workforce in the 1960s and 70s. As a kid, I felt these challenges. I also experienced the joy of an amazing mom, who did everything she could to provide for us as kids, including making the holidays special. And, yes it included toys, gifts and presents.
What makes this cause so special to you?
As an adult, having been so fortunate to have worked for great companies and being in a community with so much, I am reminded daily we’re also in a community with many who are perhaps less fortunate.
I have found that contributing to the program allows me to give back to our community, and perhaps put smiles on the faces and in the hearts of so many wonderful children.
How can people get involved and help out?
Our community can support the Toys for Tots initiative this year in several ways, including through NVIDIA’s GTC21 and the AFCEA DC Chapter.
