Lisa Starkweather, formerly the director of programs at Cyber Defense Technologies, has joined Virginia-based security consulting firm Avint as chief operating officer.
She will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Avint’s business that aims to help federal customers secure cyber and physical systems, the company said Wednesday.
Starkweather previously held operations roles focused on NASA’s human research program during her five-year career with the space agency.
Avint is a woman-owned service-disabled veteran-owned company that offers cybersecurity engineering, operations and compliance, and identity and access management services to the federal market.
The company’s founder and CEO Marcie Nagel previously worked as a principal at Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH), the FBI and the U.S. Air Force.
