The Internal Revenue Service will seek quotation for a seven-year, $2.6 billion contract in June as the agency plans to look for services to develop and modernize applications, Fedscoop reported Monday.
An IRS spokesperson said the agency will post the request for quotation in mid-2022 and issue awards under the Enterprise Development, Operations Services contract in fiscal year 2023’s first quarter.
EDOS will serve as a unified contract vehicle for the over 400 systems within the agency’s applications development portfolio. The vehicle aims to deliver applications that meet legislation-driven requirements on modernization.
Future contractors under EDOS will perform the following types of work: development, modernization and enhancement; project and program management; sustainment operations and maintenance; upgrades and configuration management; transition services; and agile portfolio management.
IRS plans to use rapid procurement approaches and to involve small businesses in EDOS.
