ICF (Nasdaq: ICFI) has purchased Enterprise Science and Computing for an undisclosed sum as part of efforts to expand its federal health technology platforms.
Rockville, Maryland-based ESAC operates with approximately 40 employees and has been providing research data management, health analytics, bioinformatics and health information technology platforms and services to federal health agencies since 2006, ICF said Tuesday.
ESAC partners with the Department of Veterans Affairs, FDA, National Institutes of Health, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and other agencies to help address challenges in such areas as health IT interoperability, health data availability, algorithm development, standards and big data integration and visualization.
John Wasson, chair and CEO of ICF and a two-time Wash100 Award winner, said ESAC is a cultural and strategic fit for ICF, enabling the latter to combine its expertise in health and social programs with ESAC’s technology platforms to capture growth opportunities.
The combination will “offer federal health agencies the interdisciplinary partners they need to improve health outcomes,” said Anand Basu, president of ESAC.
