Aerospace distribution company FDH Aero has purchased Unical Defense, a California-headquartered provider of aftermarket parts and logistics support to military customers.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed and FDH Aero said Monday the transaction marks its eighth completed acquisition since it became a portfolio company of Audax Private Equity in 2017.
Unical Defense provides support to more than 600 customers that include original equipment manufacturers, government contractors and aircraft maintenance station operators.
The acquired entity was part of the Unical group of companies and the acquisition comes more than three months after Platinum Equity acquired Unical Aviation, which is focused on supplying parts and components to the commercial aerospace market.
Alice Zhang, vice president of operations at Unical Defense, will join FDH Aero as vice president of the company’s aftermarket defense division.
