General Electric‘s (NYSE: GE) aviation subsidiary will perform modernization, repairs or replacement work two components of the T700 engine that powers U.S. Navy and Marine Corps helicopters.
The Department of Defense said Friday that GE Aviation will also help the two military services manage engine inventories for the H-60 Seahawk and AH-1 Cobra helicopters.
The Navy sought the services from a single vendor in accordance with defense acquisition regulations and will use its annual working capital funds when issuing delivery orders.
Fifty percent of contract work will take place in Lynn, Massachusetts, and the rest will occur in Arkansas City, Kansas.
