Exolaunch, a German company that provides launch services and separation systems, has established operations in Denver, Colorado and Washington, D.C. in the U.S. as part of its efforts to expand market share in North America.
Chris Hearsey, a former director at Bigelow Aerospace, was appointed to serve as CEO of Exolaunch USA and lead the new business’ operations, policy, government engagement, market capture and industry outreach initiatives, the space company said Tuesday.
The establishment of Exolaunch’s U.S. business arm is aimed at enhancing delivery of launch services and mission support offerings to North America-based customers. The move is also in line with a plan to launch over 100 small satellites to space in 2022.
“Exolaunch’s expansion into US markets will make access to space easier, regular and more affordable for our customers. We have put together an experienced and talented team to lead Exolaunch USA’s business development from our headquarters in Denver, Colorado,” said Hearsey, who brings a decade of commercial space industry experience to his new role.
Kier Fortier, director of launch for Exolaunch USA, will provide Hearsey with assistance. The former is already driving sales and partnership developments to help the business gain more visibility.
