DIA Vet Brian Drake Joins Accrete’s Government Arm as Federal CTO

Brian Drake, a Defense Intelligence Agency veteran, has joined Accrete‘s government-focused arm as federal chief technology officer, responsible for assessing the competitive landscape and helping expand and gain new opportunities with government customers.

The company said Tuesday the new Accrete AI Government federal CTO will also provide assistance in developing artificial intelligence-related congressional standards and in dealing with procurement processes.

During Drake’s nearly 12 year stint at DIA, he held several roles of increasing responsibilities, including as senior intelligence analyst, director of AI and chief of the senior leadership and technology team.

Prashant Bhuyan, founder and CEO of Accrete, cited Drake’s experience in working on AI products and vetting defense companies that offer AI and machine learning technologies. “[He] will be a guiding light as we work to bolster national security and work with Congress to standardize AI performance, explainability and ethics.”

The appointee has over two decades of management consulting, defense, intelligence and security experience in both public and private sectors.

Drake spent more than three years at a Deloitte subsidiary, where he managed multiple teams and provided government and commercial customers with advice.
