Leo Brooks Jr., a retired U.S. Army brigadier general and former Boeing (NYSE: BA) vice president, has joined Uptake as adviser responsible for providing the industrial artificial intelligence software company with strategic leadership guidance and national security insight.
Uptake CEO Kayne Grau said in a statement published Thursday Brooks helped develop and lead integrated Army operations during his nearly three decades of service to the nation.
“His national security expertise and experience strengthening public-private partnerships to enable digital transformation in the federal government will position Uptake to better equip the U.S. military with insights that enhance operational efficiency and troop safety,” the chief executive added.
Following Brooks’ government and military career, he joined Boeing where he spent almost 14 years serving as VP of several focus areas such as Army systems and defense space and security.
Brooks also serves on the boards of Valiant Integrated Services and the District of Columbia College Access Program, among others.
