Jon Moretta, industrial market leader for the critical infrastructure segment at Parsons (NYSE: PSN), has been promoted to serve as president of the company’s engineered systems unit.
He will succeed the retiring Chris Alexander to lead a business organization that helps federal clients manage facilities and infrastructure assets, Parsons said Monday.
In his more recent role, Moretta oversaw mine closure and reclamation projects in Canada and the company gained recognition in the Engineering News-Record magazine’s list of top 200 environmental firms during his tenure within the industrial group.
He also led the company through its expansion of technology offerings designed to remove per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances from drinking water.
Carey Smith, president and CEO of Parsons and a three-time Wash100 winner, said the company has provided technologies to clients in the utilities, mining, water and wastewater, health care and pharmaceuticals markets under Moretta’s leadership.
