The Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. has won a potential $149.6 million task order to rebuild facilities at a U.S. Navy installation in California that was hit by earthquakes.
The company will design and construct a cast propellant mix facility, a warhead casing operations building and a motor assembly compound at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command received three proposals for the project under a multiple-award construction contract and initially obligated $137.35 million on the firm-fixed-price task order, which has 23 unexercised options plus six planned modifications.
NAVFAC expects the contractor to finish work in February 2024.
