David Joyce, an an aerospace industry veteran, has joined the board of directors of Boeing (NYSE: BA).
Joyce will serve on aerospace safety and compensation committees as a member of Boeing’s board, the company said Tuesday.
His four-decade career at General Electric (NYSE: GE) included time as vice chair, president and CEO of GE Aviation and vice president and general manager of commercial engines. In 1980, he joined GE Aviation as a product engineer and spent more than a decade designing and building military and commercial engines.
Joyce has been serving on Xavier University’s board of trustees since 2010 and is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
David Calhoun, president and CEO of Boeing and a board member, said Joyce’s aviation experience, industry relationships and focus on aerospace safety and quality will further strengthen the company’s board.
Edmund Giambastiani, a retired U.S. Navy admiral, announced that he will retire as a member of Boeing’s board at the end of 2021. He joined the board in 2009 and has served as a member of governance and public policy and special programs committees and chair of aerospace safety and airplane policies and procedures panels.
