Ryan McCarthy, formerly the secretary of the U.S. Army and previous Wash100 awardee, has joined the board of advisers at Arlington, Virginia-based cybersecurity and systems engineering services provider Millennium.
The company said Thursday that McCarthy will apply his defense community experience to advise the company’s executive team on corporate strategy matters.
He held the top Army civilian role from late September 2019 to January 2021, following his tenure as the branch’s 33rd undersecretary.
McCarthy previously led F-35 sustainment and corporate business development functions at Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) as a vice president.
The former Army officer also worked as special assistant to Robert Gates, the 22nd defense secretary who served during the Bush and Obama administrations, and his active-duty military service included tours in Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom.
