TYSONS CORNER, VA, Sept. 23, 2021 — Concurrent Technologies Corp. was tapped by the Air Force Research Laboratory for a prototyping effort focused on the design and development of an electric flightline generator for fifth-generation fighter jets and previous variants, ExecutiveBiz reported Sept. 3.
The U.S. Air Force seeks to replace generators that use diesel with those that leverage combined lithium-ion technology and silicon carbide-based power electronics.
“Through the years, CTC has played a significant role in the Air Force’s efforts to improve energy efficiency. We are honored to help our client advance their journey from a diesel-powered to an electric flightline,” said CTC President and CEO Ed Sheehan, commenting on the 27-month, $2.6 million contract with AFRL.
