Battelle will provide research and engineering support for the 711th Human Performance Wing of the Air Force Research Laboratory under a potential five-year, $89.6 million contract.
Battelle said Wednesday it will manage a live-virtual-constructive test bed situated at AFRL’s warfighter interactions and readiness division and will perform contract work with Modern Technology Systems Inc.
The LVC test bed uses a distributed, virtual environment to support special operations forces’ training as they shift their focus from regional conflicts to joint all-domain operations.
Matt Zemanek, division manager in national security at Battelle, said the Columbus, Ohio-based science and technology nonprofit is excited to support AFRL’s efforts to study and advance human performance through the contract.
