BAE Systems’ U.S. arm, Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) and By Light Professional IT Services have formed a team to compete for an architecture, engineering and integration contract in support of the U.S. Air Force’s Mission Partner Environment modernization program.
MPE is an operational framework that delivers command and control and intelligence information sharing capabilities to the Department of Defense, mission partners and coalition warfighters across multiple domains, BAE said Monday.
Lisa Hand, vice president and general manager of integrated defense solutions business at BAE Systems Inc., said the company, By Light and SAIC will work together to provide engineering services and technologies to support MPE modernization efforts.
Hand added that the industry team’s efforts will intend to provide the U.S. armed forces and their mission partners agility, lethality and operational effectiveness in combat through MPE.
BAE said the team will establish a digital engineering environment to improve communications and facilitate the decision-making process for warfighters if selected for the MPE AE&I contract.
In June 2020, the Air Force informed industry of the expanded scope of its proposed MPE acquisition effort that seeks to combine expiring contracts for information sharing systems.
