A joint venture between Walsh Construction and Turner will build a new medical center for the Department of Veterans Affairs under a multi-year, $840.1 million firm-fixed-price contract from the Army Corps of Engineers.
Walsh-Turner JV will conduct construction work in Louisville, Kentucky, and is expected to complete the project by Nov. 19, 2025, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
USACE received two bids for the contract and it obligated the full contract amount to Walsh-Turner JV from VA’s fiscal 2016, 2017, 2020 and 2021 construction and major projects funds at the time of the award.
Aside from the new Veterans Affairs medical center, Walsh-Turner JV is also developing an inpatient hospital at the Ohio State University. The project is estimated to cost $1.79 billion and the hospital is scheduled to open in 2026.
Walsh Construction is part of The Walsh Group that offers design, build, finance, operation and outfitting services while Turner is a North America-based company that provides construction services in several market segments.
