Telos (Nasdaq: TLS) has purchased the ONYX touchless fingerprinting software, all patents and other assets of Diamond Fortress Technologies for an undisclosed sum as part of efforts to expand its digital identity and biometric intellectual property portfolio.
Telos said Monday it will integrate DFT’s ONYX software with its IDTrust360 platform, which offers trust determination and continuous monitoring capabilities, to help organizations facilitate identity and background check operations.
ONYX is a touchless, mobile biometrics platform that captures the user’s fingerprint using a device’s camera.
Telos has employed seven DFT employees, including patent holders, to support ONYX technology expansion efforts.
“Enhancing IDTrust360 with ONYX will provide a game-changing licensed technology stack for organizations that are interested in mobile-enabled biometric capture and authentication services,” said John Wood, CEO and chairman of Telos.
“We believe the acquisition of this patented touchless fingerprinting technology will allow us to eliminate much of the friction involved in biometrics data gathering for identity and access management and to better serve our growing customer base at both the enterprise and consumer levels,” Wood added.
Ashburn, Virginia-based Telos provides cybersecurity, cloud and enterprise security platforms for federal civilian, military and intelligence agencies, allied countries and commercial enterprises worldwide.
