Raytheon Named Prime on $350M Standard Missile Support FMS Deal for Australia

The State Department has named Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) as principal contractor on a potential $350 million foreign military sale of defense services to Australia, in preparation for future orders of company-built Standard Missile systems and associated equipment.

Raytheon would develop, engineer, integrate and test SM-6 Block I and SM-2 Block IIIC systems under the proposed deal, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Wednesday.

Other services covered by the possible sale are obsolescence engineering, studies and analysis, logistics, technical nd program support.

Australia is looking to procure missiles from the U.S. government to add an anti-air warfare platform to the country’s fleet of Hunter-class destroyer ships equipped with the Aegis combat system.

The proposed sale includes a provision for U.S. government and contractor representatives to provide in-country services such as program oversight and reviews.
