The National Science Foundation and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy have asked the public to comment on a plan to implement a research infrastructure that would provide artificial intelligence researchers access to computing resources, educational tools, high-quality data and user support.
The National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource Task Force will use the public’s feedback to inform the development of an implementation roadmap for the shared NAIRR infrastructure, according to a request for information posted Wednesday on Federal Register.
The task force also plans to determine ways on how to strengthen practices and principles to advance responsible and ethical AI research and development efforts.
OSTP and NSF, which initially set a Sept. 1 deadline for comments on the implementation plan, decided to extend for another month the comment period.
Responses to the RFI are due Oct. 1.
