Richard Koucheravy, formerly an executive at Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), has joined UltiSat to serve as vice president and lead business development activities, drive revenue growth and support presence expansion in emerging markets.
The satellite communications company said Thursday Koucheravy most recently served as the senior director of business development for Lockheed’s helicopter-focused Sikorsky subsidiary.
Commenting on the new VP of sales and business development, David Myers, president and CEO of UltiSat, noted that Koucheravy brings experience in tactical airborne operations and commercial leadership as well as background in military service.
The executive graduated from the U.S. Military Academy and contributed 28 years of service to the Army, where he piloted helicopters, developed strategies and handled maintenance activities. His military career includes tours in Afghanistan, Iraq and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Koucheravy also served as a colonel handling research and procurement budget activities before retiring from the military in 2013.
UltiSat offers engineering services, airborne communications and managed networks to humanitarian organizations and government agencies.
