Potomac Officers Club, the leading membership organization dedicated to connecting and empowering executives within the government contracting (GovCon) community, hosted its 2021 Air Force Acquisition Forum on Thursday, July 8th.
The 2021 Air Force Acquisition Forum presented notable and influential leaders discussing the importance of digital transformation for the Air Force’s acquisition practices and how private industry can help.
Darlene Costello, acting assistant secretary of the U.S. Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, delivered the Forum’s keynote address. She discussed her perspective and priorities for the Air Force’s relationship with private industry and important accomplishments of the service branch’s acquisition process and culture.
The Forum also hosted an expert panel on embracing digital acquisition, moderated by David Stagney of Pratt & Whitney, featuring Preston Dunlap of the Department of the Air and Space Force, Michael Roberts of Space Rapid Capabilities, William Bailey and Kristen Baldwin of the USAF.
The Forum’s keynote address and detailed panel conversations on the digital transformation initiatives of the Air Force acquisition process, including incorporating digital engineering, agile software development and open system architectures is required listening for anyone interested in securing Department of Defense contracts.
