Ned Miller, former chief technology strategist at McAfee (Nasdaq: MCFE), has joined Appgate to serve as senior vice president and general manager of the cybersecurity company’s federal arm.
He will be responsible for working with sales and technical teams to deliver zero-trust security products to clients, and leading market strategies that guide the company’s engagement with federal customers, Appgate said Thursday.
Miller brings expertise in the areas of cloud security, automation, information protection and the U.S. government’s Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, which aims to standardize the security of cloud products.
His three-decade career includes work with Hewlett-Packard, Symantec, Fortinet (Nasdaq: FTNT) and Secure Elements, where he served as CEO.
Appgate is now focusing its efforts on zero trust security, which is a critical component of President Joe Biden’s executive order on cybersecurity.
“We are currently seeing unprecedented demand for [zero trust products] in the federal government sector as these agencies seek to fortify their networks in response to a range of dangerous new threats,” said Miller.
