TYSONS CORNER, VA, June 23, 2021 — Verizon (NYSE: VZ) will provide its millimeter-wave 5G network to help Robotic Research enable operations of autonomous shuttles at the U.S. Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego as part of the 90-day program, ExecutiveBiz reported June 3.
Robotic Research’s nSight Vault storage service is planned to receive system and sensor data collected by Local Motors’ self-driving shuttle, with Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network enabling the transmission of gathered information in support of the autonomous shuttle pilot project.
