Mark Vandroff, senior vice president of business development at Fincantieri’s U.S. subsidiary, has been named CEO of the Fincantieri Marinette Marine business in a move that takes effect July 7.
He will succeed Jan Allman, who has led the FMM organization over the past seven years and will transition to a new role as SVP of public affairs and community relations at Fincantieri Marine Group, the shipbuilding company said Friday.
Vandroff will manage operations at the Marinette, Wisconsin, shipyard including the design and construction of Constellation-class frigates for the U.S. Navy.
The retired Navy captain previously worked at the White House as deputy assistant to the U.S. president and senior director of the National Security Council for defense policy.
He also held a short stint as vice president of maritime programs at management and technology support company Zenetex.
His military service included assignments as major program manager of Arleigh Burke-class destroyer ships and commanding officer at the Nava; Surface Warfare Center’s Carderock division in Maryland.
