Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) will perform replacement-in-kind services for three Seahawk multimission naval helicopters under a $129 million contract modification awarded by the U.S. Navy.
The branch will obligate the full amount of the modification to increase the scope for the company’s MH-60R production and delivery work under a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
Sikorsky, a Lockheed subsidiary, manufactures the Seahawk helicopter for use in various naval operations such as anti-submarine and surface warfare, surveillance, logistics and search and rescue missions.
The MH-60R is built to deploy from destroyers, aircraft carriers, cruisers and frigates within open ocean and littoral areas.
