Washington, D.C.-based investment firm Enlightenment Capital has invested in Fenix Group, a Chantilly, Virginia-based provider of battlefield edge networks and integrated systems, to help the latter advance its growth strategy.
“This partnership greatly enhances our ability to drive growth through expansion of our facility footprints in multiple states and allows us to refine our engineering process and manufacturing capacity to scale with demand,” Dave Peterson, founder and CEO, said in a statement published Monday.
Established in 2016, Fenix supplies equipment and services for handheld communication devices and broadband networks in support of the Department of Defense and intelligence community. The company provides infrastructure and mobile platforms equipped with 5G functionality for military installations across the U.S. through recently awarded subcontracts.
Jason Rigoli, partner at Enlightenment Capital, said Fenix supports LTE, 5G and other mobile communications systems being used at the tactical edge.
“We are excited to invest in their vision of pushing the boundaries of interconnected defense and intelligence systems in use around the world,” Rigoli added.
