The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Accreditation Body has made Redspin the first certified third-party assessment organization in the CMMC marketplace after the cybersecurity company passed the CMMC Maturity Level 3 evaluation by the Defense Industrial Base Cybersecurity Assessment Center.
“Reaching this step in getting the CMMC ecosystem up and running is a significant milestone and we look forward to authorizing additional C3PAOs in the coming days and weeks,” Matthew Travis, CEO of CMMC-AB, said in a statement published Wednesday.
CMMC-AB said the company also met the C3PAO personnel and administrative requirements in addition to the CMMC ML3 assessment.
As an authorized C3PAO, Redspin can now work with companies seeking CMMC certification to carry out assessments at Maturity Levels 1 through 3.
“As recent events emphasize how aggressively cyber threat actors are targeting our nation, the role of CMMC is more vital than ever as we take a united approach to protecting critical assets and information within the Defense Industrial Base,” Travis added.
CMMC-AB said assessments can kick off by summer 2021 once all supporting materials are completed in the coming weeks.
