B&A was recognized as one of 2021 Top Workplaces in the Washington, D.C. area, a ranking released by The Washington Post that is based on a scientific survey of employees who rate their workplace culture.
The news organization collaborated with Energage, its eight-year research partner on the Top Workplaces program, to gauge employees’ take on workplace culture aspects, including workforce productivity, recruitment and retention; confidence in company leadership; coaching and employee development; company goals, values and cooperation; and the basics.
In its over three decades of operation, B&A has worked to ensure that its corporate culture aligns with its growth efforts. The company has open-door policy and hosts social and team building initiatives aimed at encouraging employee interaction and providing stress relief. Meditation sessions, seasonal celebrations, and fitness challenges are some of the said activities.
The B&A Cares Program was launched in response to COVID-19. As a result, employees were provided with care packages delivered quarterly as well as access to a registered counselor as part of the program.
“We are honored to be recognized as a Washington Post Top Workplace,” said Jonathan Evans, president and CEO of B&A. “This recognition is truly special because the judges were our employees. Without their commitment to B&A and dedication to our mission, this achievement would not have been possible.”
A virtual awards ceremony for 2021 Top Workplaces was held Thursday during which The Washington Post recognized top-ranked government contractors, real estate and law firms, professional and business services and technology companies.
