Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has secured a $105.7 million contract modification from the U.S. Army to build and maintain XM813 Bushmaster chain guns for the U.S. Army’s Stryker infantry carrier vehicle weapons modernization program.
The Army is procuring the new configuration of 30×173 mm caliber cannons, a derivative of Northrop’s Mk44 Bushmaster chain gun system, the Department of Defense said Friday.
The company received a $37.7 million firm-fixed-price contract in September 2020 to obtain long lead items needed to manufacture the cannons as part of the branch’s Stryker Medium Caliber Weapon System 30mm Lethality Upgrade effort.
Army Contracting Command will determine performance locations and corresponding funds with each order and expects work under the new award to be complete by Sept. 24, 2026.
