SOCOM Pushes Maximum Order Amount for L3Harris Countermeasure Tech IDIQ to $493M

L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has received a $438 million contract modification that increases the ceiling value of U.S. Special Operations Command orders for radio frequency countermeasures technology.

The award raises the maximum ordering amount in SOCOM’s Suite of Integrated RF Countermeasures program to $493 million, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

SIRFC systems are intended to defend military helicopters from threat radar-guided airborne weapons. Special operations forces use the technology to increase aircraft survivability on missions that take place in hostile areas.

Work under the modification will primarily take place in Clifton, New Jersey.

SOCOM used fiscal 2020 operation and maintenance funds to cover the initial task order on the non-competitive, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.
