TYSONS CORNER, VA, May 4, 2021 — Gabe Camarillo, senior vice president of the Army business unit at Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC), said a potential $830 million contract won by the company to support the military service’s software, simulation, systems engineering and integration directorate reinforces its position as an engineering services provider in the Huntsville, Alabama, area.
Camarillo told ExecutiveBiz in an interview that a separate award worth potentially $3.5 billion gives SAIC the opportunity to leverage its virtual and constructive training experience to support Army aviation modernization efforts.
He added that the company will also help Army S3I personnel to engineer modeling and simulation systems under an $800 million contract.
“Why are modeling and simulations important? It’s because the Army is heading towards a Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) environment where simulations are interconnected. Sensor and system interoperability is critical to success on the battlefield,”
