The company said Wednesday Chronis will now be responsible for leading the business unit as it provides public sector customers with technologies and services that support their missions in the federal civilian and defense space.
The SVP will also drive partnerships with federal, state and local governments as well as education and public safety clients.
Prior to joining Verizon in 2020, Chronis worked at Amazon Web Services where she supported the Department of Defense’s cloud adoption efforts. She also served at IBM (NYSE: IBM) for more than eight years, holding several federal civilian and defense leadership roles at the company.
She replaced Andres Irlando, who stepped down from his SVP and public sector president roles at Verizon, and will report to Sowmyanarayan Sampath, chief revenue officer of Verizon Business.
Chronis is a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel who served for over two decades with the military branch.
