Stephanie Hill, executive vice president of rotary and mission systems (RMS) for Lockheed Martin, has received her second Wash100 Award, the highest honor in all of government contracting (GovCon).
Previously, Hill received the Wash100 Award in 2015 for her leadership and her efforts to push for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) advocacy.
For this yearâs award, Stephanie Hill was recognized for her continued work to push the importance of STEM workers as well as the management of Lockheedâs RMS division, which is a $16 billion gross enterprise employing 34,000 people who work on over 1,000 programs.
Under Hill’s leadership, Lockheed RMS achieved net sales of $15.99 billion in 2020, a raise from $15.12 billion posted in 2019. The business segment’s net sales in the fourth quarter of 2020 also grew to $4.21 billion, an increase of $323 million or 8 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.
Aside from supporting Lockheed RMS, Hill mentors company professionals and students and promotes STEM education. Hill explained in Sep. 2020 that the U.S. is experiencing a “critical shortage of STEM workers” and that the industry is in need of top talent in engineering and science.
âWe must capture the imaginations of the future scientists, engineers and innovators who will change the world â especially those who are not yet interested in and/or doubt that a STEM career is possible for them,â said Hill in her interview with ExecutiveBiz.
