Executive Mosaic, the leading provider in connecting, promoting and branding government and government contracting (GovCon) executives, is honored to announce that Ramzi Musallam, managing partner and CEO of Veritas Capital, has received a 2021 Wash100 Award for leading a large number of multi-billion dollar acquisitions to drive exponential growth for the private equity firm
In the prestigious eight year history of the Wash100 Award, the most coveted award in all of GovCon, Musallam has received the award for the last six consecutive years. He remains one of the greatest drivers of growth and a significant executive of consequence to the GovCon sector.
âAnother year, another blockbuster GovCon deal for Veritas Capital and Ramzi Musallam. More than any other GovCon-focused equity player, Veritas Capital has shown not only obvious commitment and interest in the GovCon market but has built a reputation for successful growth and a hand-picked cadre of top executives, many of whom are Wash100 winners themselves,â said Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic and founder of the Wash100 Award.
âRamzi alone has earned our Wash100 Award six consecutive times. When his six are added to the collection that has also been earned by executives and board members under his sphere of companies, the total reaches an unbelievable almost 30 Wash100 Award over eight years.â
Musallam has become one of the most decorated executives in the federal sector. Under his leadership and vision, Veritas Capital has secured a handful of multibillion-dollar landscape-changing acquisitions over the last six months that have catapulted the company into the highest level of excellence and strategic growth for its future as 2021 continues.
In Dec. 2020, Veritas Capital agreed to acquire Northrop Grummanâs federal information technology and mission support services business for approximately $3.4 billion. After the deal is completed in June 2021, Veritas expects to merge the Northrop federal IT business with Peraton.
âThe completion of this transaction brings together two dynamic businesses with complementary, mission-critical solutions and capabilities, creating an industry-leading platform with a shared commitment to customer success,â said Musallam.
Following the acquisition of Northropâs federal IT business, Veritas Capital announced that the company was set to acquire Perspecta with a $7.1 billion all-cash acquisition in Jan. 2021. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of the 2021 fiscal year.
In addition, the company is also looking to combine Perspecta with Peraton under Veritas as well to create a leading government technology combination that delivers end-to-end capabilities in IT and mission support and serves as the strategic partner of choice across a diverse array of federal government customers.
âAs a long-time investor in Perspecta and its predecessor companies for over a decade, we have always recognized Perspecta for its market differentiation, leading-edge IP, and focused execution in the government technology space,â said Musallam.
As the GovCon community continues to weigh the importance of Veritas Capital’s acquisition of Perspecta, the company partnered with Evergreen Coast Capital in Feb. 2021 to bid $2.8 billion in another all-cash transaction to acquire Cubic Corporation.Â
Following some competition, the companyâs bid was amended to $75 per share in March 2021. Cubicâs board of directors approved the proposal for the all-cash transaction to be valued at $3 billion. This represents a premium of around 69% to Cubic unaffected closing stock price on Sept. 18, 2020, the last trading day before Cubic disclosed a possible merger.
Executive Mosaic congratulates Ramzi Musallam for receiving a Wash100 Award for the sixth consecutive year. His commitment to excellence has not only led to substantial growth for Veritas Capital, but his influence over the federal landscape will be essential as these major acquisitions are implemented over 2021 for the entire GovCon and federal communities.
