Lt. Gen. Michael Groen, director of the Department of Defense’s Joint Artificial Intelligence Center and 2021 Wash100 Award recipient, said a platform for military personnel to create AI tools achieved initial operating capability status, FedScoop reported Tuesday.
He told attendees at a National Defense Industry Association-hosted event that JAIC began hosting data and algorithms through the Joint Common Foundation platform.
The JCF is designed to be a space where any DOD organization can gather clean data and write code. It serves an essential part of the center’s toolbox that will become a capability for the entire department to utilize.
Groen noted that JAIC plans to implement a block enhancement in the platform on a monthly basis and offers the coding technology to defense agencies that do not have access to other military software development environments such as the Air Force’s Platform One.
The center is soliciting feedback from current and potential JCF users, according to the publication.
Groen will deliver a keynote speech at the Potomac Officers Club’s 3rd Annual Artificial Intelligence Summit on March 30. To register for this virtual forum and view other upcoming events, visit the Potomac Officers Club Events page.
