Advanced Technology International and the National Armaments Consortium have partnered to develop energetics technologies under an other transaction agreement with the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division.
ATI and NAC will work on the Naval Energetic Systems and Technologies program to help the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and the Department of Defense address energetics-related challenges and other threats in surface, subsurface, littoral, expeditionary, aerial and ground environments, according to a joint release Friday.
The NEST OTA has a six-year term and a four-year option and covers several tech development areas, including new energetics research, development, test and evaluation; modeling software and coding; energetic systems; propellants; warheads; propulsion systems; explosive ordnance disposal robotic systems; packaging, handling, storage and transportation; chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear; and electromagnetic radiation, signals, signal processing and signal capture.
NSWC IHD is a Navy organization focused on the development of energetics, ordnance and EOD platforms. Energetics are used in ordnance and propulsion systems and include pyrotechnics, reactive materials, explosives, propellants and related chemicals and fuels.
