An AirBoss of America subsidiary has received a potential $576 million contract from the Department of Health and Human Services to provide disposable rubber gloves for the Strategic National Stockpile.
AirBoss Defense Group said Tuesday the HHS Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response could place a $288 million initial order for nitrile gloves as part of the federal government’s pandemic response and public health preparedness efforts.
ADG expects the agency to exercise a $288 million contract option later this year for the company to supply more nonsurgical hand coverings to the government for use in health care settings.
The group has supported federal requirements for personal protective equipment and other products to defend against chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive threats over the past two decades.
HHS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Veterans Affairs have received more than 150,000 powered air-purifying respirator systems from ADG in the past year, the company added.
