Plano, Texas-based software provider Tyler Technologies has formed a business group that will aim to drive the company's multiyear cloud computing strategy for public sector customers.
Jeff Puckett, chief operating officer of Tyler, will lead the newly formed corporate operations team and its strategic, development, information technology and data security functions, the company said Monday.
The new group will also support a company initiative to help build âConnected Communitiesâ with technology.
Puckett said the company has offered its software-as-a-service platform to public sector customers for more than two decades.
âWe look forward to helping them create their roadmap toward a public cloud infrastructure and helping them realize benefits such as a robust security environment, better communication between offices and departments, and streamlined software delivery,â he added.
The company also named Russell Gainford, most recently vice president of development within its public safety division, as VP of cloud strategy and operations. He will identify approaches to develop, operate and deploy cloud platforms in his new position.
Tyler formalized its cloud strategy through a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services in late 2019 aimed at driving the adoption of cloud-hosted applications in the government sector.
