Kaiser Permanente has partnered with the American Heart Association (AHA) to serve as a Healthy for Good sponsor over the next three years in the Greater Washington region and as a founding member of the inaugural DC Go Red for Women campaign.
Ruth Williams-Brinkley, regional president of Kaiser Permanente in the Mid-Atlantic States, will lead the fundraising efforts this year for the DC Go Red initiative, which seeks to encourage women to fight stroke and heart disease, as part of the company’s sponsorship, AHA said in a Jan. 27 news release.
âI am honored to lead the inaugural DC Go Red For Women campaign and to have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the heart health of people in the communities we serve,â said Williams-Brinkley.
âThis mission is near and dear to my heart, as it is an extension of the important work being done at Kaiser Permanente to eliminate health care disparities and expand access to care for all in our community.â
Williams-Brinkley will also serve as chair of the 2022 Greater Washington Region Heart Walk. In December, AHA named Jill Feldon, vice president of marketing, communication and community relations for Kaiser Permanente in the Mid-Atlantic region, as chair of this yearâs Heart Walk.
Kaiser Permanente will work with the AHA to conduct a series of digital discussions to help educate the Greater Washington community on critical health priorities.
