Guilford, Maine-based woodenware manufacturing company Hardwood Products has secured a $110.1M undefinitized contract from the U.S. Air Force to obtain machinery and equipment needed to ramp up production of foam-tip nasal swabs for medical use.
The AF Life Cycle Management issued the award as a commercial contract comes in support of industrial base expansion and production efforts, the Department of Defense said Friday.
Hardwood Products will receive $34.2M at the time of award from the branch’s fiscal 2021 other procurement funds and perform work in Pittsfield, Maine, through October 2021.
The company markets disposable woodenware products, such as tipped applicators and tongue depressors, under the GoldBond and Trophy brands.
