Cubic (NYSE: CUB) has merged five product lines into the San Diego, California-based company’s intelligent transportation systems unit as part of efforts to drive operational efficiency and an emerging concept called mobility as a service.
The consolidated ITS segment is led by Jeff Price and comprised of the GRIDSMART, Road User Charging, Trafficware and Transport Management Platform offerings, the company said Tuesday.
Price most recently served as senior vice president and general manager of the GRIDSMART business line within Cubic’s transportation systems segment. Previously, he worked with the research and development team at the Department of Energy’s and taught at the University of Tennessee as a research assistant professor.
Jeff Lowinger, president of Cubic Transportation Systems, said the company seeks to increase its ability to collaborate with its global transportation partners to build mobility, traffic congestion management and road safety platforms.
The ITS division was formed by the integration of the company’s U.K.-based intelligent transport systems segment and GRIDSMART and Trafficware brands in 2019.
