Baird Advises The Buffalo Group on Sale to Jacobs; Jean Stack Comments

The Buffalo Group has completed its sale to professional services firm Jacobs (NYSE: J) under an acquisition deal where Baird served as the exclusive financial adviser for the cyber and intelligence company.

Jacobs said Tuesday it made the acquisition to expand government mission support across the cyber, ground, sea, airborne and space domains.

Jean Stack, managing director of Baird and a previous Wash100 recipient, told GovCon Wire that The Buffalo Group has been winning large-scale contracts in a competitive environment through the application of intelligence analysis to its software development process.

Buffalo Group offerings will be part of Jacob's cyber and intelligence unit led by Caesar Nieves.

Jacobs Chair and CEO Steve Demetriou said he expects the combination to expand potential business opportunities within the defense and intelligence community sectors.

Fried Frank and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman served as legal counsels of Jacobs and The Buffalo Group, respectively.
