Army Lt. Gen. David Bassett, director of the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), will deliver a keynote speech during GovConWire’s FY21 Acquisition Virtual Forum on November 12th. As the director, he leads a Department of Defense (DoD) agency consisting of more than 12,000 civilians and military personnel who manage more than 300,000 contracts, performed at 15,000 locations worldwide, with a total value in excess of $7 trillion.
Bassett assumed leadership of DCMA on June 4, 2020. He came to the agency after serving as Program Executive Officer for Command, Control and Communications-Tactical (PEO C3T) since January 2018, where he was responsible for the development, acquisition, fielding and support of the Army’s tactical network, a critical modernization priority.
Bassett was commissioned into the Signal Corps in 1988 through ROTC concurrent with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
During GovConWire’s FY21 Acquisition Forum, Bassett will discuss the Defense Budget Reform, annual financial audit schedule adherence, Defense Acquisition System and implementation of the Adaptive Acquisition Framework.
