General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) Electric Boat subsidiary has secured a pair of awards worth $251M combined to provide planning yard support and other services for U.S. Navy underwater vessels.
The first award is a $215.7M modification under a potential $1B contract and includes engineering, design and technical work on in-service submarines, General Dynamics said Thursday.
Electric Boat will also maintain submarine reactor plants and moored training ships under a separate $35.3M cost-plus-fixed-fee contract.
“We continue to work to hire, train and develop future generations of shipbuilders as we continue to deliver the Virginia class of fast attack submarines and move toward full-scale construction of the Columbia class of ballistic missile submarines,” said Electric Boat President Kevin Graney.
