Modern Technology Solutions Inc. has received a potential five-year, $68.5M contract to support the Missile Defense Agency’s Concepts and Performance Lab program.
MTSI will identify, evaluate and mature new technology platforms and future tech concepts such as cruise missiles, hypersonics, quantum science, artificial intelligence and machine learning under the CAPL program to help extend missile defense system capabilities, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
The contractor will also mature interceptor and sensor concepts and perform laboratory experiments, simulations, algorithm development and ground and flight tests to facilitate operational and technical review of capabilities.
MDA will obligate $3.8M in research, development, test and evaluation funds for fiscal year 2020 at the time of award.
MTSI will perform work in Huntsville, Alabama, under the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract, which has a three-year base term that will run through Sept. 16, 2023, and two option years.
