Dr. Donna Peebles, associate administrator of 8(a) business development (BD) and senior executive (SES) with Small Business Administration (SBA) will serve on the expert panel during GovConWire’s 2020 BD Trends Forum on Thursday, August 27th.

In her role with the administration, Peebles is responsible for providing effective business development tools to procurement-ready small business firms seeking 8(a) certification and mentor protégé agreements. Additionally, Peebles serves as the 8(a) Certifying Official for all 8(a) applicants in the United States.
She began her career as a navy comptroller college intern in 1990, and has worked in various U.S. government finance, budget, acquisition and small business programs within the Navy, Air Force, Army and National Guard Bureau. Prior to joining the SBA, Peebles served as the director, Office of Small Business Programs, at the Headquarters U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
“It’s important that we make sure that more federal contracts get into the hands of small businesses that drive the nation’s economy and create jobs. These forums will go a long way in making sure that small businesses know how to leverage their companies and team up with viable partners to take their businesses to the next level,” said Peebles in regards to the SBA’s new initiatives.
During the event, Peebles will dive into current Business Development (BD) trends, tips for securing contracts and Fiscal Year 2021 federal budget projections. Kelley will be joined by Stephanie Shutt, GSA director of Multiple Award Schedule Program Management Office.
Peebles will also be joined by Frank Kelley, vice president of Defense Acquisition University (DAU), who will serve as a keynote speaker during the event.
