Doug Brown Assumes Federal Design Practice Lead Role at Woolpert

Doug Brown, a vice president and program director at Woolpert, has elevated to the position of federal design practice leader.

He has worked for the architecture, engineering and geospatial services provider for almost 18 years and has managed multimillion-dollar planning and design contracts with military customers, Woolpert said Thursday.

Brown considered the firm’s work with the Department of Defense Education Activity as one of the many highlights of his career and noted that his previous experience supporting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Louisville District helped him grow professionally.

A Army officer’s son, he also served as a civil engineer officer at the Air Force before joining Woolpert’s office in Fairview Heights, Ill.

Brown is the founder and vice president of Joshua’s Great Things, a charitable organization that aims to support family programs and pediatric brain tumor research efforts.
