NOAA Taps L3Harris for Satellite Architecture Research; Ed Zoiss Quoted

L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has been selected to help the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration develop an architecture for a new Earth observation satellite, Satnews reported Wednesday.

The company will conduct four studies to explore spacecraft systems, instruments and mission concepts.

Ed Zoiss, president of L3Harris' space and airborne systems segment, said the company seeks to help transform the agency's satellite-based weather forecasting process through an innovation approach.

The company and its predecessor businesses have produced space sensors for customers over the past five decades to support weather monitoring efforts.
