Tina Jonas, a former comptroller and chief financial officer at the Department of Defense, will join the board of directors of Serco Group’s U.S. subsidiary Serco Inc. by July 1.
Jonas holds more than 32 years of experience in various senior executive positions in both the government and commercial sectors, the company said Tuesday.
Her public-sector career has included service as assistant director and CFO at the FBI, deputy undersecretary of defense for financial management, as well as senior positions at the Office of Management and Budget and the House Appropriations defense subcommittee.
“She brings decades of leadership in the defense industry from both the government side and the commercial side,” said Dave Dacquino, chairman and CEO of Serco Inc. and former Wash100 inductee. “Additionally, we look forward to her financial expertise contributions as a former CFO.”
Jonas is currently an independent consultant and serves on several defense company boards. She also serves as a trustee for the National Defense Industrial Association, a board member of the National Military Family Association, and a non-resident senior adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
She most recently served as a chief executive with UnitedHealthcare. She previously served as president of Logistics Health Incorporated (LHI) and as a senior vice president of Optum Health. Jonas held executive positions in the aerospace and defense industry from 2008 to 2012.
From 2010 to 2012 she served as executive vice president of Operations for PASSUR Aerospace. From 2008 to 2010 Jonas served as an operations executive with United Technologies, a Fortune 45 engineering and manufacturing company.
Jonas is a recipient of numerous awards, including the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service (Bronze Palm), Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Joint Distinguished Civilian Service Award and the Department of the Navy Distinguished Public Service Award, among others.
